The weather and climate in San Vito Lo Capo

di Antonella

When you have to plan a vacation in a place you have never been before, you wonder what the climate is like.

Once you have booked your trip, you always have the anxiety of not finding the climate you had hoped for when you chose the hotel.

It happens to everyone.

Nowadays it is very easy to get information and you can know for example "when to go to San Vito Lo Capo”.

We live in this beautiful town of Western Sicily for all the year.

We know what is the best time for a walk by the sea, to make the first - or the last - swim in the beautiful waters of our beach, to discover the Zingaro Nature Reserve.

San Vito Lo Capo: climate and temperature

We are very lucky to live here and to have the sun for about all year.

Now we will try to give you some more information to help you make a decision and finally get you to this much loved town of the Province of Trapani.

The winter months

The temperatures in November are really very good (20/25 degrees!), so the last passionate tourists go to the beach to tan or even do some quick swims, taking beautiful photographs to post on and Social and to send to friends and relatives left at home.

December, January, February and March are the coldest, wettest and windiest months of the year.

The spring months

April is more suitable than March for a first holiday by the sea because in Spring the days are longer and sunny than in winter

We advise you to pack a swimsuit, t-shirts and sunglasses as well as a jacket for when you go to visit Erice, the medieval town overlooking Trapani and Egadi islands.

This is a wonderful time when temperatures are around 20 degrees. In spring, many tourists love to take a bike ride along the promenade or to sunbathe on the beach.

Do you already want to leave for a small Spring break?

In May, many of our regular guests come to San Vito Lo Capo in May because the temperatures are very enjoyable.
The sea water is still a bit cool (about 15 - 17 degrees because it is still not heated by the summer sun) but the beach is wonderful and empty.
This is why we also have regular guests that love to swims, rent boat, go trekking in May, not only in summer.

In April and May we suggest to dedicate your days to the Monte Monaco Reserve (the mountain that dominates the bay of San Vito Lo Capo) and to leave also for an adventure in Monte Cofano; climbers on the other hand will already know the Calamancina Cliffs.

You should therefore have at least 4 or 5 days in order to take full advantage of all the sunny days so as to also take advantage of much more competitive rates than those of the high season (from June to September).

The summer months

June is even more enjoyable than May: temperatures reach 30 degrees!

t is no coincidence that this is the month that many love, as they start the first organized excursions by boat for the Zingaro Nature Reserve.

We always suggest a minimum stay of 7 nights: there are a lot of beautiful sunny days, you can stay on the beach, enjoy fantastic boat trips - personalized or with other people - but also visit the neighboring places like Erice, Segesta, Marsala and reach Favignana, one of the Egadi islands.

The hottest months of the summer are July and August, where diving in the crystal clear water of our sea is a great relief!

The temperatures in fact easily reach 40 degrees!

This is one of the reasons why San Vito Lo Capo is in great demand in this part of the summer.

September is not the end of summer as you might think!

The temperatures are similar to those of June: fantastic sunny days a less crowded beach than in August but also the most loved event of summer: the Cous Cous Fest, in which you can taste the different recipes of the many chef competing during the Cous Cous World Championship.

October

In October the mild climate and the warm sun of this period are ideal for sunbathing and discovering hidden corners or to learn more about our area, which is rich in history and views that will make your holiday unique, creating thousands of beautiful memories.

An October holiday in San Vito Lo Capo is ideal for those who love outdoor sports.
For some years, around the second week of October, the "San Vito Outdoor (Climbing Festval)" has been taking place in our town: climbing, mountain biking, kite-surfing, sup, slacke-line, paragliding, trekking and much more to discover.

In October here you can also take advantage of much more competitive rates than those of the high season (from June to September).
