Monte Cofano Reserve: between sea and mountains
The Piccolo Mondo Hotel in San Vito lo Capo enjoys a truly privileged position, just 50 meters from the beach of San Vito Lo Capo and the city center. San Vito Lo Capo is located between the Monte Cofano Reserve and the Zingaro Reserve (more info here).
The Monte Cofano Reserve is protected by silence where there are luxuriant dwarf palms, it is the "wild side" of our territory, where time seems to have stopped.
In fifteen minutes by car from San Vito Lo Capo you can reach the east entrance; you enter by paying a small ticket. Here stands the "Torre di Tono", built in 1500 to defend the tonnara and the ancient fishing village.
From here starts a steep path that reaches almost near the summit, but it is advisable to climb only with an expert in the area.
Near the Monte Cofano Reserve there is the Frassino Beach, which is a rocky area with a long sandy stretch. The color of the sea changes from shades of green to an intense blue, where tranquility reigns. Swimming in this clear stretch of sea is a real luxury. You will enjoy its tranquility, away from the crowds.
The same applies to the "Agliareddi" coves: there are two, and both are located at the entrance to the Monte Cofano Reserve and are among the most beautiful because from here, in addition to admiring the entire panorama, you are very far from the classic noises of beaches. The shoreline is not made of sand but of white pebbles. There is a gentle entrance that goes down early, so you need to be careful if you are with your children.
